Early 1900s Violin made by Ladislav Herclik
Really lovely handmade instrument by Ladislav Herclik in Kolin, a town just east of Prague. Herclik produced fine handmade instruments in the early 1900s, this instrument is possibly from around the 1920s.
Fine golden varnish covers this handsome violin, and it remains in excellent playing condition despite some old cracks to the front. Unfortunately the cracks had been open for some time when the violin came to me, and so was almost impossible to close fully. This defect is reinforced on the inside of the instrument and is purely cosmetic, but allows this fine instrument to be sold at a slightly lower price than would otherwise be expected of Herclik's work.
The sound is very well balanced and bright, and the instrument plays very smoothly. An excellent instrument for the intermediate player.
If you are interested in this instrument or another, please do get in contact with Jonathan via email or telephone. At this point we can arrange a no obligation testing session and see where we are.
It's important to me that each person who comes to me leaves with something they're absolutely happy with. With this in mind, I work within a six month returns policy. If you find the instrument isnt behaving as you would hope but is still in the same condition it was sold in, just get back in touch. We can discuss options and try to isolate the problem, but if this turns out to be impossible, a full refund will be given.
Shipping is available within the UK but unfortunately not worldwide (yet!)
If we ship your violin it will be protected to the very best of our abilities.
